Ancestral Inspiration. Cider Hill Farm originally built in Groton, Connecticut in 1725 by the author’s forebears on land one of them purchased in the late 17th Century. Ms. Dimancescu‘s forebears lived and worked on their farm for close to two hundred years. During this time the family house and its adjoining farmland was passed from father to son for five generations.
